The Tower of Hanoi consists of three rods and five discs of different sizes. The game begins with the discs stacked in order of size on a bar with the smallest on top. The goal is to move the entire stack to another bar. The rule is that it can only move one disc at a time without putting a larger disc on top of a smaller one. The Tower of Hanoi develops various skills and especially problem solving. This puzzle was invented by the French mathematician Edward Lucas in 1883. It is also known by the names Lucas's Tower and Brahma's Tower.
